About Situational Security Training Academy

Millions of rands are written off annually in South Africa as security losses e.g. loss of life, loss through injury, loss of production, loss of job and so forth. Although it is impossible to know exactly how much money is lost through security losses, we are probably right in assuming that the real monetary losses are far in excess of the known losses.
In terms of current practice in South Africa, security losses are absorbed by insurance cover. The last two decades, however, there has been greater drive to prevent or combat security losses by introducing well tried security measures and devising lasting security programs. It was in the seventies; however, the security awareness began to gain momentum. With the rise of a new generation of security personnel, who took over from night watchmen with knobkerries. These new security men possess security knowledge through study and experience. Moreover, both the public and private sectors are becoming aware of the fact that the earlier concept of security has become obsolete. New ideas concerning loss control, contingency plans, emergency procedures etc. are being introduced.
This development resulting in sophisticated security aids which, coupled with new knowledge, began to be introduced. Security started being involved, while security awareness, brought about by continuing security threat, was given further though. This in turn resulted in deeper investigation into security problems, leading to stricter security measures.
As a result of this, Situational Security Training Academy management will not leave the vital function of security control in the hands of inefficient staff.
